Jean-Francois Bonneté is a consummate and respected wine and spirits industry professional with nearly two decades of experience, both internationally and in the United States.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bonneté has earned a distinguished reputation as an energetic, determined, efficient and passionate brand and business leader and builder, as well as an exceptional and creative marketer.
Mr. Bonneté is the President-CEO of BCI based in the United States and Bonneté International in Bordeaux, France.
Nathalie Bonneté built her successful career in the Oil & Gas industry up to 2015 when she became a founding partner and COO of BCI and Bonneté International.
Graduated from one of France’s leading engineering school (ENSPM – IFP) as well as top French University Pierre et Marie Curie, Mrs. Bonneté managed multi million dollars projects for major petroleum companies (such as Chevron, BP, Halliburton, ConocoPhillips or Total) in the United States and globally (France, England, Congo and Columbia).
Prior to 2015, Mr. Bonneté was the Chief Operating Officer of Pisco Portón, LLC, overseeing all daily operations and strategic decision of the company. He was also specifically responsible for building Portόn as the leading Pisco brand in the world and one of the fastest growing beverage brands in the United States during his tenure.
Prior to joining Pisco Portón, Mr. Bonneté founded and built the spirits portfolio at W.J. Deutsch & Sons, one of the leading wine importer and marketer in the United States. He served as Senior Vice President – Spirits Division and was responsible for managing a myriad of award-winning spirits brands (including Luksusowa Vodka, Landy Cognac and Licor 43). He was also part of the team developing the award winning wine portfolio of W.J. Deutsch including Yellow Tail wines from Australia.
Previously, Mr. Bonneté served as Director – North America of Cognac Ferrand USA, where he played a leading and instrumental role in the development and growth of the company’s business in North America, launching and building brands such as Pierre Ferrand Cognac, Plantation Rums and Citadelle Gin.
Mr. Bonneté serves as Chairman and a board member of the French-American Chamber of Commerce (FACC) Houston. He is also a member of the United Stated Executive Committee of the FACC.
He was recognized in 2006 by then French Minister of Foreign Trade Christine Lagarde as one of the Top 5 head of the most performing US subsidiaries from all exporting French mid-size companies to the United States.
He was knighted in 2011 as “Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite Agricole” by then French Minister of the Agriculture Bruno Lemaire, for his “contribution to the French wine and spirits industry”. He was elevated to “Officier” in 2016.
Mr. Bonneté studied International Business at Harvard University as well as International Corporate Finance at New York University, and received his MBA from Institut Supérieur de Gestion, one of France’s leading business schools.
